Nearly 17 years after the initial launch of Martin Miller's Gin, 9 Moons was created through the innovative cocktail experiments of a daring group of mixologists in New York. By aging Martin Miller's Gin in mini barrels, they achieved remarkable results. Further experimentation involved placing barrels of French oak in the cold, dry climate of Iceland, allowing our special 9 Moons blend to mature for varying periods. After extensive testing, we discovered that a 9-month aging process in these conditions produced the finest Aged Gin experience.
Martin Miller's 9 Moons Gin is aged in new French oak barrels, filled with high strength Martin Miller's Gin, and stored for approximately nine months in our barrel store in Borgarnes, Iceland. Through a Solera Vat aging and blending process, two different batches are combined to achieve a consistent product with a complex and unique flavor profile.
The French oak imparts a subtle vanilla sweetness to Martin Miller's 9 Moons Gin, enhancing the botanicals that complement the juniper base. With citrus notes and a hint of oak in the finish, 9 Moons is perfect for savoring neat or over ice.
