James Suckling Review
This has a very rich plum nose with mulberry and well-integrated, spicy French-oak character. The palate has such well-judged balance and even shape. Super fresh and vibrant red plums and mulberries abound. The tannins are so smooth and layered. A thoroughly respectable Kiwi claret! A blend of merlot, cabernet sauvignon, malbec, cabernet franc and petit verdot. Drink or hold.
Wine Tasting Notes
Deepest crimson red. Brooding aromatically with notes of cassis, black olive, dried tobacco and the faintest hint of caramel. The wine has lovely focus on the palate with dark fruits framed by fine tannins to deliver a classical structure with an excellent future ahead.
66% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc
