Wine Advocate Review Rated 93 Vietti's 2003 Barbera d'Alba Scarrone represents a terrific achievement in this important vintage for Barbera. It bursts from the glass with a superb nose of smoke, toasted oak and flowers. Full and dense on the palate, it offers sensations of ripe dark red to black fruit with excellent persistence, finishing with good freshness and acidity. It is a wine of tremendous harmony and balance.
Wine Tasting Notes Ruby purple color with intense aromas of concentrated ripe red and black cherries with vanilla and hints of brown spice. With refreshing acidity, rich tannins, and on the fuller-bodied side for Barbera, the single vineyard La Scaronne has finesse, excellent balance, great complexity, integration and a long lingering finish.
