VinoUS Media Review
The 2013 Chardonnay Dierberg Vineyard is super-polished and finessed from start to finish. Scents of almond, lemon peel and flowers open up in this striking, effortless Chardonnay. Orange peel and slightly more tropical notes develop with air in a Chardonnay that offers superb textural depth and tons of personality, all in a laid-back, understated style that is such a signature of Santa Maria. Wine Advocate Review
The 2013 Chardonnay Dierberg Vineyard is a smoking white from the Santa Maria Valley that was brought up in 15% new 400-liter French oak barrels. Full, bodied, rich and beautifully textured, with lots of buttered apple, melon, spice and creamy notes, it stays crisp and clean on the finish. Drink this full-flavored, beautifully made Chardonnay over the coming 4-5 years.
Wine Enthusiast Review
Bright and airy on the nose, with aromas of lemon pith, ripe apple and delicate white peach, this wine is one of the first made in its entirety by Dierberg's new winemaker, Tyler Thomas. The palate offers flavors of fresh lime sprayed on cold apple slices and sprinkled with sea salt, proving tightly wound with the right amount of grip and energy.
Wine Spectator Review
Sleek and refined, with a delicate mix of white peach, nectarine, honeydew and light spicy oak, delivering an elegant, graceful wine of style and finesse. Drink now.
Wine Tasting Notes
Aromatically someone recently described the wine as at once fully perfumed and refined. It is as if the volume of the nose is able, but the delivery of specific characters quite subtle. The texture strikes that desired chord of lush Dierberg Vineyard fruit character built on a preservation of freshness and length. The wine should deliver for some time.
