Composed of 65% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 10% Cinsault and the rest Mourvedre, Counoise, Muscardin and Vaccarese, and aged in a combination of concrete tanks and small oak barrels, the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape reveals elegant notes of red and black currants, spice box, cedar, new saddle leather, kirsch and underbrush. This medium to full-bodied, tasty, supple textured wine should drink well for a decade or more.
