Wine Spectator Review Rated 91 A ripe and nicely structured Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with creamy cassis, plum sauce and linzer torte flavors carried by chestnut-tinged structure. The finish shows a mix of spice and licorice notes, while a note of alder wood fills in the background for added contrast. Best from 2013 through 2020.
The Chateauneuf du Pape has a deep purple color and a somewhat modern style of up-front black currant and cherry fruit intermixed with a bit of licorice, spice box, and flowers. It is deep, round, generously endowed with silky tannin and no shortage of near-term appeal, although I suspect its capable of lasting at least a decade.
