Wine Tasting Notes A classic Southern Rhone blend of 63% Grenache, 14% Syrah, 14% Mourvedre, and 9% Cinsault. The Grenache and Mourvedre come from vines planted before prohibition in the Cucamonga AVA, a warm growing region similar to the Hermitage. The soils are composed of alluvial deposits of granite and schist of cobble size and larger. The vines are dry farmed, low yielding, and intense with robust tannins. These were then tempered with cool climate Syrah and Cinsault that added acidity, balance, and structure. The varieties are fermented separately before aging in both American and French oak cooperage for 12 months. Once blended the wine is bottle-aged for twelve months prior to release. Aromas of cinnamon, black pepper, and dark fruit are complemented by flavors of blackberry, raspberry, spice and toasty oak.
