Wine Tasting Notes Claret, or Bordeaux as it is sometimes called, is a Cabernet sauvignon-based Bordeaux blend, not too dark in color with a medium body, good fruit flavor and bouquet.
The Claret has multiple layers of fruit derived from the five grapes used in the blend. The fruit of the Syrah enhances the bouquet and the entry of the wine onto the palate. The dark berry flavors of the Merlot linger on the palate, and the cocoa finish is distinctly Cabernet Sauvignon. Soft on the approach, the tannins build up on the back palate, yielding an approachable Cabernet that pairs well with pizza, grilled meats; or simply enjoy with friends.
