Beverage Testing Institute Review Rated 93 CELLAR SELECTION Garnet color. Rich berry, suede and chocolate toffee aromas and flavors with a supple dry-yet-fruity medium-full body and a tangy, chewy, poised finish with great length and complexity and grippy tannins. Give this a few years for optimum rewards.
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine Review Rated 91 More than once in the past, Cyrus has ranked with the better wines of its district, and this very deep, well-composed effort can make the claim again. It is wonderfully expressive with a full range of sweet oak and briary spice set against confident ripe-currant fruit, and its keen sense of balance makes it both age-worthy and surprisingly attractive now. We would opt for five years of aging if given the choice, but would not refuse a glass if poured with a well-marbled rib-eye steak tonight.
Wine Enthusiast Review Rated 91 A deliciously easy wine to drink now. Based on Cabernet Sauvignon, it's rich and spicy in cherry and blackberry jam, chocolate, red currant and cedar flavors, with soft tannins and an herbaceous taste of the earth. As sweet as the fruit is, the wine finishes totally dry.
Wine Tasting Notes Overall, concentration and wonderful flavors of cassis and berries best describes the CYRUS. Aromas of black cherry, plum, spice, oak, mint and vanilla fill the glass. There is good entry and balance with flavors of berry, cocoa, mint, coffee and cedar. This rich wine has big structure and a long finish. The intense concentration and great balance will allow this wine to age gracefully for 10-15 years.
